		We are located in beautiful Polk County in Central Florida. We are midway between the greater Tampa and Orlando area’s and while the entire area is seeing a great deal of growth, we still enjoy many roads in the citrus and mining regions of the county that provide enjoyable riding for those who like to travel the roadways. We are also fortunate to have four trails in the county, ranging from the six mile Auburndale /TECO Trail to the 29 mile (58 round trip) Van Fleet Trail, and the Lake to Lake Bikeway in Lakeland. At times, Polk County has been referred to as “The Cycling Capital of Florida”. PABA is the premier bicycling club in the county for road and touring riders. While we are one Club, we have several different groups of riders who ride regularly, depending on ability and desire. At our schedule site you will find rides ranging from our monthly “newer riders” Sunday ride, to a weekly 35 mile ride with no stops, which is a high speed ride. In between, and very popular, is the weekly Saturday ride for club riders (15 – 18 mph) through various parts of the county with a stop for breakfast. There is also another Saturday ride for those looking for a little more challenging ride. In addition, there is a group of riders who meet most Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings for a local 25 – 40 mile ride with a breakfast stop. You can get information on this group at our Contact Us page. We try to have something for most riders. And, contrary to popular opinion, we do have some hills in the area. If you are more attuned to mountain or off-road cycling, the county has a very good area devoted to you. PABA is happy to cooperate with The Ridge Riders off road club and recommend that you contact them through our Links page. We invite you to come out and ride with us.
