The Polk Area Bicycling Association

The Polk Area Bicycling Association is a club that promotes safe cycling practices, physical achievement, and the social benefits of group cycling. Our club rides every weekend in the Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. We have rides that are usually in the mid 30-40 mile range and in the future may plan for longer distances.
Therefore, the partricipant is encouraged to ride whatever speed they wish, but should be reminded that they are responsible for navigating themselves throughout the ride course and return themselves to the point of origin once they have forged ahead of the group.

The goal of our cycling is to provide a means to encourage the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. Participation in our club is open to anyone who wishes to ride and exhibits a willingness to promote good group riding etiquette.

We are sustained by the efforts of participants who display a commitment to ensure that our club is an asset to the community.

Below lists some of the characteristics  that we are looking for in those who choose to be members!

"PABA is a road cycling club borne out of a desire to offer to the cycling community a ride on Saturday mornings.  The club has been in existence for more than three decades.  Our rides will hopefully present an enjoyment  of being with fellow riders which will result in a comradery among participants. It is the belief that this pleasurable encounter with friends and avid cyclists will engender kindred spirits, forming a bond for those who are lead to participate. The Polk Area Bicycling Association is a non-profit organization.

Having fun and experiencing the great outdoors is what we're all about!" -PABA
